Welcome Shelley!

We wanted to take a moment to Congratulate Shelley and welcome her aboard to our Finally Fit Team!

Shelley began her fitness journey with us nearly 3 years ago. She works extremely hard in each workout and has rarely missed a session!
Just in this last year alone, she has made a HUGE transformation in her physique and continues to work hard on her nutrition and exercise program.

Several weeks ago, Joey and I talked about a certain event coming up rather quickly. We discussed the hours I'm already putting into coaching, program design, ProCoach nutrition through Precision Nutrition, Costco, family etc...

It was clear that I am officially at capacity and can no longer extend my hours out without compromising family time. I'm proud to say that I've stuck to my personal and family commitments by being home no later than 6:30pm during the week and 12:00 on Saturdays.

However, we still want to grow. We found ourselves at that interesting stage of being stuck. My time is stretched thin as it is and about to be non-existent soon. How can we grow? Do we grow? Can we grow?

We decided to give it another try of building a team. A team who aligns themselves with our core values. A team who truly believes in our mission of changing the way fitness is done. A team who believes in our purpose of helping people feel better, move better and live life better. A team who believes in actual teamwork and collaboration and not their own personal agendas. As the old saying goes "There is no I in TEAM." --And Shelley gets that.

She was one of the first to send in her resume and we were thrilled to see it along with all of her reasons WHY she would be a great fit for our Team.

With Shelley's extensive background basically being a marketing ninja, she'll be able to do the things that I haven't had the time to execute, follow up or simply aren't good at doing to help grow Finally Fit.

Please help me welcome aboard Shelley!

Success Spotlight!

Last week I shared with you about Drew hitting his personal best on bench press. What I didn't share was the amount he lifted for that press.

For a long time, Drew has had a goal of hitting 200# on his bench. He's had goals of a certain amount of push-ups as well but the bench is something I've noticed he's really been wanting to tackle.

When we started our Strong Challenge last month he said, "I'm hitting 200# on the bench." He hasn't hit that since college. We worked on a periodization of a certain amount of reps and weight and then slowly dropped reps and increased weight with each set.

Last week was game day. He had been thinking about it all morning and was ready to take it on. We did a few light warm up sets and longer rest periods. Our first main set was an easy 185# for 6 reps. Next set, another easy set of 195# for 5 reps.

Last set, best set. I put a total of 205# on the bar and he looked at me and said "how much is on there?"

"205" I replied.

He took a deep breath and jumped right in and said "let's do this."

Another easy set of 5 reps!

The grin is priceless as you can see below. He also tackled the Dirty Dash with his daughter and is working hard to be a good role model for his family.
