I’m reminded of an event from one year ago today. We had just finished a quick trip to Vegas to see Aerosmith then detoured to the Grand Canyon before heading home.
Little did we know, one year later we wouldn’t have that opportunity. But we have a different opportunity. Most of us are slowly emerging from our homes to stores, restaurants and starting to return back to our place of employment, offices, etc. Some of the conversations that I’ve been having with people are those of concern and frustration getting back their normal routine after experiencing the freedom being able to work from home. I get it. I really do. We know from experience that to make drastic and lasting change, you need to simplify. COVID has taught us that. It taught us to simplify quickly. So now we are thinking what can we do to keep that feeling? That experience. That freedom. Keep the simplest tasks a priority and keep them consistent. So you need to ask yourself, what are the simplest tasks for you? Maybe it’s: 🦋Getting up 15-30 minutes earlier to get some movement in. 🦋Setting out your workout clothes the night before 🦋Packing your lunch the night before 🦋Taking a few minutes to sit quietly, journal, visualize your outcome on your intentions. Maybe take that outside and listen to the nature. We’ve learned that we can pivot and make things work during this time. We’ve learned what we want to keep in our lives We’ve learned what we don’t want to keep in our lives. Now that we’ve had that awakening, it’s time to make some decisions. If you get off track or feel overwhelmed, or if you catch yourself rushing, don't panic. Simply pause. Relax. Reboot. And go back to keeping it simple and mastering the basics.
